Synopsis
Miña pequena is a dance-theatre performance for unconventional spaces that adapts the short story Manaus by Constance Hurlé, winner of the 1st Prize for Micro-short Stories Against Gender Violence from the Council of Ribadavia in 2020. It explores, through poetry, dance and sound, the connections between psyche, body and violence.
The axis is the narration of a rape, whose memory will remain locked away in the corners of the victim’s mind.
The actress leads us into an intimate confession where the brutality of the abuse and the fragility of the violated body are laid bare through metaphor and the harshness of a direct, second-person narrative addressed to the aggressor. The piece invites reflection on the everyday nature of gender-based violence and sexual abuse within the intimate partner relationship, and how these acts leave a mark on the body, transforming and permeating it.
On stage we see performer Constance accompanied by Diana Longa’s live sound composition.
